Description
Deutsch: Westansicht des Domes St. Martin in der burgenländischen Landeshauptstadt Eisenstadt.
Die dreischiffige spätgotische Hallenkirche wurde anstelle einer romanischen Kleinkirche errichtet. Um 1460 erfolgte der Neubau unter Johann Sybenhirter; 1468 war der Chor fertiggestellt und 1522 das Langhaus mit dem Turm. 1960 erfolgte die Erhebung der Stadtpfarrkirche zum Bischofsdom.
Ursprünglich war westseitig eine Doppelturmfassade geplant, jedoch ausgeführt wurde nur der nordseitige und südseitig wurde der Turm nur bis auf eine Höhe von etwa des Langhauses realisiert.
