Object history
Deutsch: Das aufspringende Pferd war das heraldische Zeichen der von etwa 1200 bis 1245/46 nachweisbaren Ortsherren, der Gurren von Haag, dann deren Rechtsnachfolger, der Herren und ab 1509 Reichsgrafen von Fraunberg, die 1436 für ihr Territorium Haag die Reichsunmittelbarkeit erlangten (Reichsgrafschaft). Das Ross redet für den Namen Gurre: Eine Gurre bezeichnete eine schlechte Stute. Das für 1457 nachweisbare Richtersiegel von Haag zeigt das steigende Ross im Dreiecksschild. Die Grafschaft Haag kam erst nach dem Aussterben der Fraunberger 1566 wieder an das Herzogtum Bayern. Schon Ludwig der Bayer hatte dem Ort 1324 das Marktrecht verliehen. Das Siegelbild aus der Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts hat sich bis in die Gegenwart kaum verändert; als Wappen ist es erst seit dem 18. Jahrhundert belegt.
