Summary[edit]

Description

Headquarters of the Argentina Jockey Club, facing Carlos Pellegrini Square, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located on Alvear 1345 and originally built for Concepción Unzué and her husband Carlos Casares for their 1893 wedding, this building was acquired following the 1953 destruction of the original headquarters by a Peronist mob.

Acquired in 1966, it was modified by architect Alejandro Bustillo, reinaugurated in 1968, and expanded in 1981 with the addition of an adjoining mansion formerly owned by the Sánchez Elía family.

Argentina has no "freedom of panorama" provision in its copyright law. At least some think there is de facto freedom of panorama in Argentina regarding buildings:
