This page in a nutshell: Don't make the point that an article is a cruftmagnet by overloading it with cruft.
It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wiki's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints.
As an example, below we take the text from the article about Tuesday and overload it with cruft, and post it here. This is only an example meant to illustrate what pointcruft typically looks like.
The name Tuesday derives from the Old English "Tiwesdæg" and literally means "Tiw's Day". Tiw is the Old English form of the Proto-Germanic god *Tîwaz, or Týr in Norse, a god of war and law. In the Indic languages of Pali and Sanskrit, as well as in Thailand, the name of the day is taken from Angaraka ('one who is red in colour') a style (manner of address) for Mangala, the god of war, and for Mars, the red planet.
