Timothy Simmons

I created this article, however Wikipedia:Notability (politics) proposes that diplomatic notability should be a person who has "received significant coverage in crafting an international agreement or related to a notable diplomatic event." I consequently no longer believe that there is anything noteworthy about the subject's diplomatic career to necessitate its own article. Uhooep (talk) 15:33, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. As holder of the CVO, he meets the bar of WP:ANYBIO #1. We have always considered anyone who holds a CBE or above to qualify. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:09, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I looked through all of the pages for the CVO and didn't find this person's name. Unfortunately the royal web site is not making the transition from Elizabeth to Charles gracefully, and the information seems to have disappeared from there. Can anyone give a citation that proves the claim? Lamona (talk) 05:16, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Note, I also find nothing on Google, and only one name check on The Guardian. That is, however, the extent of my access to UK news. Lamona (talk) 05:21, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      • Weirdly, I can't find his CVO citation on the London Gazette website where it should be. But it is on his Who's Who entry. He presumably got it during the Queen's state visit to Slovenia in 2008. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:28, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
        • He's also listed as having the CVO here. I think we can probably say that he does have it. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:36, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
          • I don't think that we can use http://www.gulabin.com/ as a source of truth - it seems to be a single person's website ("Colin Mackie's website") and doesn't say how it fact checks its information. I would tend to believe the London Gazette over Who's Who - which may get its information directly from the "who" that it is "who-ing." I'm going to go with Delete, also because there are no sources that we've turned up so far that would provide sufficient biographical information for an article.
