A sorocarp (from the Greek word soros a heap + karpos fruit) is the fruiting body characteristic of certain cellular slime moulds (e.g., Dictyosteliida).
Each sorocarp consists of both a sorophore (stalk) and a sorus. Sorocarps release spores.
