A series of explosions at a gunpowder plant in the village of Gorni Lom in Northwestern Bulgaria completely destroys the factory, killing 15 people who were working inside it at the time. (Focus News)

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that unemployment in the United States has dropped from 6.1% to 5.9% in September, the lowest since July of 2008. The labor force participation rate also fell, to 62.7 percent. (CNBC)
