Palais Du Pharo
The Palais du Pharo is a palace in Marseille, France.
It was built in 1858 by Emperor Napoleon III for Empress Eugénie. In 1884, during a cholera epidemic, the mansion was transformed into a hospital. For the rest of the century, it was used for treatment of cholera and tuberculosis victims. In 1905, a institute for the study of tropical medicines, the Ecole du Pharo, opened at the mansion.
