Description
English: Portrait of John Stearne (1624-1669), in the robes of a Doctor of Medicine of the University of Dublin, by Thomas Pooley

The view through the window is of part of Trinity College, including the old priory of All Hallows.

Signed bottom right corner with the monogram TP

Based on the evidence of the wig worn by Stearne, and Pooley's age it seems likely that this was a posthumous portrait.
