Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Labour Party (UK)
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | the image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing Labour Party (UK), a subject of public interest. The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify the organization, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the organization, and illustrate the organization's intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey. There is commentary in the article about the logo itself as follows: "The red rose, a symbol of socialism and social democracy, was adopted as the party symbol in 1986 as part of a rebranding exercise and is now incorporated into the party logo."
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) | Because it is a non-free logo, there is almost certainly no free representation. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | This image will only be used to identify the entity in question. Image is low-fidelity, having been auto-traced from a low-resolution rendering of the original logo. (Detail: the lower-resolution SVG was generated by rendering the original SVG at 446 x 82 resolution using Gimp, then auto-tracing the resulting bitmap using inkscape)

current | 20:46, 17 October 2020 | 446 × 82 (7 KB) | (talk | ) | Updated version. To my knowledge, WP:FAIRUSE (WP:IMAGERES) only requires the display resolution be low (as this one is, being far below the normal 100,000 pixel threshold), and mentions nothing about the fidelity or accuracy of the image having to be compromised in order to meet the criteria, especially with regards to SVG images.
07:19, 25 September 2020 | No thumbnail | 446 × 82 (11 KB) | (talk | ) | Reverted to version as of 11:30, 20 September 2020 (UTC) -- smaller file-size image appears to be full-resolution version that we explicitly don't want here
00:05, 21 September 2020 | No thumbnail | 446 × 82 (7 KB) | (talk | ) | reduce file size
11:30, 20 September 2020 | No thumbnail | 446 × 82 (11 KB) | (talk | ) | corrected color, which got lost in the conversion
11:23, 20 September 2020 | No thumbnail | 446 × 82 (11 KB) | (talk | ) | to satisfy non-free image criteria, this is a low-fidelity version of the Labour logo, generated by rendering original SVG at 446 x 82 resolution using Gimp, then auto-tracing the resulting bitmap using inkscape |
