English: This is a scientific graphic which represents glacier mass change in the Hindu Kush Himalayas region during the 20th century and in the early 21st century. The left half of each circle represents average mass change during the 20th century and the right half during the 21st. The number in each half-circle is the number of glaciers in the region, the size of the circle represents their combined area, while the shading represents the extent of mass loss experienced by those glaciers (with white representing no mass loss, and deep red representing the most intense mass loss.) |
