1961 Lsu Tigers Football Team

The 1961 LSU Tigers football team was an American football team that represented Louisiana State University (LSU) as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) during the 1961 NCAA University Division football season.

In their seventh year under head coach Paul Dietzel, the Tigers complied an overall record of 10–1, with a conference record of 6–0, and finished second in the SEC. Following the Tigers' Orange Bowl victory vs. Colorado, Dietzel departed to take the head coaching position at Army.
