2020: Year

2020 (twenty twenty) (MMXX) was a leap year starting on Wednesday in the Gregorian calendar, the 20th year of the 3rd millennium, the 20th year of the 21st century, and the 1st year of the 2020s decade.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to severe global economic and social disruption throughout 2020. The year was also nominated by Time magazine to be one of "the worst years to be alive" in modern history. The cover article did not go as far.
