Description
English: Map from 1765 showing the territory over which the Imperial Abbey of Salem exercised high jurisdiction. Border stones numbered from 1 to 129 indicate the limits of the abbey. Salem was bordered on the south by Lake Constance, on the east by the Prince-Bishopric of Constance, on the north by the county of Heiligenberg (part of the scattered domains of the Fürstenberg princes) and on the west by the Imperial City of Überlingen. The elaborate coat of arms of Abbot Anselm II is shown in the upper right corner.
