Object history
Deutsch: Die Stadt wurde wohl um 1290 von den Herren von Schwarzenberg gegründet. Bald führte sie schon Siegel (Abdrucke ab 1315), in denen eine Szene aus dem Leben des Kirchenpatrons und das schwarzenbergische Wappen (Sechsberg) dargestellt sind. Ein Dreiberg hat mindestens seit dem 16. Jahrhundert als Stadtwappen zu gelten, ab 1639 ist er das alleinige Siegelbild. Dennoch führte die Stadt seit 1895 das ältere Siegelbild als Wappen, bis 1968 das heutige Wappen vom Innenministerium verliehen wurde. Nach Vereinigung mit Oberprechtal und Prechtal (1975) wurden Wappen und Flagge am 5. April 1982 vom Landratsamt Emmendingen neu verliehen.
