Notes | NG6364. Prince Charles Louis (1617 - 1680), later Elector Palatinate, was the eldest surviving son of Frederick V, Elector Palatine and Elizabeth Stuart, the 'Winter Queen', sister of Charles I. He can be identified as Prince Charles Louis because he was the only one of the three brothers who was entitled to wear the Garter ribbon at this date. Next to him his brother 'Prince Rupert, Count Palatine, Duke of Cumberland'. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
