Description
Deutsch: Das ehemalige Börsengebäude am Börseplatz im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt.
Das Gebäude wurde von 1874 bis 1877 nach Plänen von Theophil Hansen und Carl Tietz in klassizistischen Renaissanceformen errichtet und am 14. März 1877 von Kaiser Franz Joseph I. eröffnet, wobei die erste Börsenversammlung am 19. März 1877 stattfand. Am 13. April 1956 wurde durch einen Großbrand das Gebäude schwer beschädigt und der Börsenbetrieb konnte erst am 7. Dezember 1959 wieder aufgenommen werden. Nach dem Beschluss die Wiener Börse AG zu privatisieren, wurde die Börsekammer im Juni 1999 aufgelöst und Ende 2001 zog dann die Wiener Börse AG in das Palais Caprara-Geymüller um.
