Description
The Danish King Christian X rides across the old border at the reunion between Denmark and Northern Schleswig in 1920. This may be a study for the final version of the painting, which is part of the Royal Collection. In the final version, the signature (bottom left) is spread over two lines, and persons in the background are identifiable as members of the Royal Family.
