Official language status of English in the world
Description
English: Countries of the world where English is a majority native language are dark blue; countries where it is an official but not majority native language are light blue. In the Canadian province of Quebec, French is the sole official language, but it has a small English-speaking population (Charter of the French Language). Because Quebec is not a separate country, but part of Canada, it is not shown separately and is colored dark blue.

  1. Seit der Annahme eines Verfassungs-Referendums am 17. November 2010 ist Englisch nicht mehr Amtssprache. Artikel 4 des PROJET DE CONSTITUTION DE LA QUATRIEME REPUBLIQUE DE MADAGASCAR A SOUMETTRE A REFERENDUM LE 17 NOVEMBRE 2010 (französisch, letzter Zugriff: 7. Dezember 2010)
  2. PROJET DE CONSTITUTION DE LA QUATRIEME REPUBLIQUE DE MADAGASCAR A SOUMETTRE A REFERENDUM LE 17 NOVEMBRE 2010 (français, dernier accès le 7 décembre 2010).

Please be careful with Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somaliland.
