Amtliche Beschreibung des Wappens[edit]

„Das Wappen der Stadt zeigt in Silber einen schwebenden, vierstufigen roten Mauergiebel, aus dem ein schwarzer Greif mit goldener Zunge und goldener Bewehrung aufwächst.“ (§2 Abs. 1 der Hauptsatzung der Stadt Grimmen)

Die Tingierung ist wie folgt festgelegt:

  • Reichgold oder Gelb HKS4
  • Britanniasilber oder Weiß
  • Rot HKS12
  • Schwarz
