Do you speak Bislama? --Caro de Segeda (talk) 11:24, 19 Oktoba 2021 (UTC)

Hello. No I don't really speak it but I'm using two dictionaries and trying to explore the way how the written Bislama is using by local media and in official documents, so I would describe my knowledge as 'bi-0.5' (Babel-like estimate). I'm here for long. --Wolverène (talk) 17:55, 19 Oktoba 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wiki wiki.

When someone edits a Wiki wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wiki Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wiki wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Template for cities

Hi! I have created a template for cities, you can see it here. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 08:02, 11 Jun 2022 (UTC)

Japanese

Hi Wolverène, how are you? I wanted to ask you how do you say "Japanese" (the language) in Bislama because in Japan appears as "Japanis" and I would have thought it should be "TokTok Japan". Also, how would you say "Arabic language"? --Caro de Segeda (talk) 07:22, 6 Septemba 2022 (UTC)

Help

Hi Wolverène! How are you? I would like to ask you for some help.

Would you be able to please translate this to Bislama?

  • Music of Vanuatu
  • The flag of Vanuatu (Bislama: flaeg blong Vanuatu) was adopted on 18 February 1980.
  • The literature of Vanuatu, understood in the strict sense of written literature, began in the 1960s.
  • A continent is a large area of the land on Earth that is joined together.
  • Religion in Vanuatu is dominated by various branches of Christianity.
  • Sports in Vanuatu are played throughout the country.

I will create those articles and then I will try to add a template as well.

Thanks for you help. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 07:52, 22 Septemba 2022 (UTC)

The translations are not 100% accurate but I guess they aren't also too terrible so let's lay our hopes on native-speaking users who could correct it somewhen. --Wolverène (talk) 01:05, 25 Septemba 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I am trying to get the articles about Vanuatu in Bislama.
Whenever you have, could you please translate this?
    • History of Vanuatu = Histri blong Vanuatu?
    • The history of Vanuatu spans over 3,200 years.
    • Early map of the New Hebrides, 1887
    • The National Library is the national library of Vanuatu. It contains about 15,000 books. It was established in April 2004. It is within the Vanuatu Cultural Centre in Port Vila.
    • A nakamal is a traditional meeting place in Vanuatu. It is used for gatherings, ceremonies and the drinking of kava.
    • Coconut War = Kokonas Wo?
Also, I have created this template. It would need to be translated to Bislama though.
Thanks for your help. Caro de Segeda (talk) 06:24, 26 Septemba 2022 (UTC)
