Common name : Black-berried featherfoil Native to: Indian subcontinent etc ., Tamil name : KARU NELLI ‘black Indian goose berry’ Fruiting and flowering season of plant is from July to March. Leaves of the plant, researches proven, contain tannic acid ; The leaves are used as diabetic medicine. It is also considered as antidiarrhoel ;Paste of leaves is applied to burns ;Fruits are famine food ;Decoction of leaves has antibacterial activity ; Dried bark is used as diuretic by physicians . In picture - Ripe fruits of Phyllanthus reticulatus ; They are edible !

சிவப்புப்பூலா , காட்டுக் கீழாநெல்லி , பூலா, அபரஞ்சி என்றெல்லாம் இதற்குப் பெயர்கள் உண்டு ! கருநெல்லி ,உடம்பை அழியா நிலைக்குக் கொண்டு செல்லும் என்ற சொல் மருத்துவ உலகில் என்றும் உண்டு ! அகத்தியர் பரிபூரணம் என்ற பழம் நூலில் கருநெல்லி உண்பார்க்கு எந்த நோயும் வராது என எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது ! உடலுக்கு உறுதி தருவது கருநெல்லி ;ஔவை அதியமானுக்கு இந்த நெல்லிக்கனியைத்தான் கொண்டுவந்தாள் என்ற கருத்தும் சித்தமருத்துவர்களிடையே உண்டு ! கருநெல்லியானது உடல் கழிவுகளை வெளியேற்றும் ! கரு நெல்லியைப் பாலுடன் சேர்த்து 40 நாட்கள் உண்டால் உடல் தங்கம் போல் மின்னும் என்று சித்த மருத்துவர்கள் எழுதியுள்ளார்கள் !கரு நெல்லிப் பழத்தை உண்ணலாம் ;வேர்க்கசாயம் புழுக்கொல்லியாகும் ;இலை சர்க்கரை நோய்க்கு மருந்தாகப் பயன்படுகிறது ;இம்மூலிகை சோகைநோய்க்கு மருந்து;இலை மற்றும் பட்டை சேர்ந்த கசாயம் சின்னம்மைக்கு மருந்து. படம் - மினுமினுக்கும் கருநெல்லிப் பழங்கள் !संस्कृतम्: कृष्ण काम्बोजी (Krishna-kamboji)
