Thanks for the message on my page. Regards the Trotsky edits I made, most of that is common knowledge. So once I get the hang of editing Wiki and using Scots, I'll get the info back up there. For me it reads like hagiography. And an outline of the ideological differences is essential. Goniga (tauk) 09:49, 28 Dizember 2019 (UTC)
Hi, could you empty the category? Some pages are even listed there for more than 7 days. Masumrezarock100 (tauk) 13:16, 17 Januar 2020 (UTC)

Hi. could you please grant me user rights here at this wiki? eg, rollback, etc? I have over ten years experience at editing wikipedia. --Sm8900 (tauk) 23:39, 5 Februar 2020 (UTC)
I found this article while going through RC. A SWMT member had tagged it for deletion because it looked like "spam". It doesn't look like spammy to me, but the subject doesn't appear to be notable. At least I couldn't find any reliable and independent source when doing a quick BEFORE. So I was wondering if Scottish Wikipedia has any criteria for speedy deletion like A7. Regardless I tagged it for speedy deletion. If it doesn't meet any of the criteria for speedy deletion, could you tell me show me how to nominate it for AFD? Does scowiki have such process of deletion? Masumrezarock100 (tauk) 00:07, 9 Februar 2020 (UTC)
Looks like the subject himself is directly editing the article. Masumrezarock100 (tauk) 13:05, 11 Februar 2020 (UTC)
@MJL, AmaryllisGardener: Just wanted to draw your attention to Consumer_Finance. Looks like a list and not an article, wholly written in English without any source whatsoever. Does it qualify for deletion? Masumrezarock100 (tauk) 00:47, 12 Februar 2020 (UTC)
Hi. Could you block 2602:306:83A9:3D00:A410:72E6:2648:4D5B? Thank you! —Hasley (tauk) 23:25, 16 Februar 2020 (UTC)
Hello MJL,
an IP that otherwise vandalized articles, has also created 2 highly suspicious ones. I let you clean up, please.
Yours, --Hsarrazin (tauk) 12:20, 24 Mairch 2020 (UTC)
Hello,
Hi. I've been going through cleaning up after the import. Some updates:
Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help; I have a tool to easily replace the same text on multiple pages, so moving categories (for example) is pretty simple, but it can do a lot. Hope this helped! --DannyS712 (tauk) 02:25, 27 Apryle 2020 (UTC)
Hi there! I have seen you have put that article up for deletion, after it was suggested so at Meta. I didn't take notice of such request; had I known, I would have commented there. I have no problem with it going up for discussion, but it is kind of upsetting it is being made as an act of retaliation, not yours obviously, but Alexis'. And well... hope you are fine, by the way. --Cuatro Remos (tauk) 06:01, 1 Juin 2020 (UTC)
I want to make it clear that I am not pending retaliation, I just did an investigation and I must report the irregularity. Is it a matter of retaliation that the article that was created on Scottish Wikipedia was deleted from everywhere? I'm just doing justice, that article should not exist because it was not listed as relevant to anyone. And I will not allow a user to take advantage of the shortage of rules and people in a language to promote themselves. Whoever who are the user ... I will always punish actions, not names. As the saying goes: "only the good one will understand". Alexismata7 (tauk) 09:32, 1 Juin 2020 (UTC)
MJL, nothing ever happened. Alexismata7 (tauk) 19:48, 1 Juin 2020 (UTC)
Might want to take a look at Special:Contributions/23.236.96.149. Thanks, --DannyS712 (tauk) 03:55, 11 Julie 2020 (UTC)
Didn't even realise this wiki existed till I saw it on Reddit - looking through a bunch of the pages almost *none* of it is in Scots? Why has it been edited this way? Are there any native Scots speakers on the Admins for this wiki? PruitIgoe— Precedin unsigned comment addit bi PruitIgoe (talk) 18:11, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

There has to be a way to resolve this issue short of completely deleting the Scots-language Wikipedia, perhaps every page which this user has edited should just be reverted all the way back to 2012. Yes there would be a lot of collateral damage and a lot of pages would become little more than stubs, but at least the nonsense would be removed and there would be something there to rebuild. Paraphrased (tauk) 20:44, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
The solution is to get more people with a good understanding of Scots to help out, fix some pages, write some Manual of Style/guidelines to follow. Admins, who's only additional task is to revert and ban vandalism (with some additional tasks) are very neccesary, but without any dedicated native speakers, we do what we can do. We require more editors, not being destroyed.Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:27, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
I agree with Lee, what's needed here is some solid, solidly written guidelines. It's all well and good saying that this project needs improving, but the first step is having 'WP:COMPETENCE' translated into Scots.
The solution *isn't* to close the whole place down, that would be a disastrous loss of knowledge. But it just needs the same early-days policy development English language Wikipedia underwent in the later 2000s - 2010s; more policy, giving admins better powers to enforce it and a sturdier base to lead the project from. -- Ineffablebookkeeper (tauk) 21:34, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
Sorry I don't speak Scots.
I don't see that throwing the whole thing out is much of a solution - but ultimately that should be up to Scots speakers. Just assuming good faith and keep on going doesn't seem to be a solution either.
So one possible route to take: 1) Sort out all the articles where the admin is involved, e.g. all those he created or had the most edits. Likely this could be done by a bot or similar. Place all those in draft space, or just throw them out if that is the consensus. 2) Convince a local Scottish university to hold a really big edit-a-thon or series of edit-a-thons to check and rewrite the drafts, or other articles if they are judged to be in a similar state.
BTW. I've just learned about this and really know nothing yet. But I am the editor-in-chief of The Signpost so I have to write about this (unless there's a top-flight volunteer willing to do so) Sunday publication, Saturday deadline email me. Smallbones (tauk) 02:00, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
I have noticed that the FA on the main page has been changed to Robert Burns. Although I am not a Scots speaker, I have heard that this is a good article, and rightly so: after all, the main subject is the national bard of Scotland. In light of this change and recent events, what will be done with the featured articles before August 2020, and will the FA process, page and/or archives on this wiki change? MSG17 (tauk) 00:34, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi MJL. Regarding p.3 on Puckle Proposals and also recent thread on Mercat Cross. What's your opinion on such an dedicated Wikipedia:Spellin Fettle page? I want to check before going ahead and making it. If you do support it, would you also be able to add a link to it on the homepage akin to Wiki: Mercat Cross? Soothrhins (tauk) 16:07, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello. I'd suggest changing "in Inglis" -> "in English" in the site notice. --Minorax (tauk) 07:53, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello,
why didnt you opt for the name Prayagraj, but for Allahabad? are you in correspondence with that anti-Hinduist Wutsje, did he make you do it?
I really would like to discuss it, if you give me the Chance, I would like to convince you that Prayagraj is the better option, I dont know if you give me a Chance though.
--Tecumseh*1301 (tauk) 12:24, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
Okay, I write there, hope you answer. But.. The majority of Wikis took on the new name!!? Tecumseh*1301 (tauk) 22:28, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
Well except for a weird entry by Wutsje, that we should orientate merely on English Wikipedia and a weird entry of Zoozaz, that.. mhmh we should look what English Wikipedia has to say (what is Wrong with them, there are also other Wikipedias than the English one, and Scots is an own language) of course they had no other arguments, and this is not enough. So you got to Look at the arguments and make the right decision in renaming the article Prayagraj, as it is in the majority of other Wikipedias.. I hope you make the right and fair decision.
Cheers
Hi, do you think Special:AbuseFilter/5 and Special:AbuseFilter/6 still need to be enabled? Perhaps you could change them to tag/warn instead of disallow at least. There are some true positives but also some false positives that could lead to confusion/frustration for new users. Actually, #6 doesn't seem to have a lot of FPs (surprisingly), but #5 does. Hi, MJL! I was just about to ask you take a look on the Aberdeen City Council account when I saw you had already blocked it for a century. Since my Scots isn't the best, I had to read a couple times before I spotted the bad faith editing. Anyways, just wanted to thank you for the comically long block. Hi, is there a page for reporting vandals and vandalism? This one is a serious nuisance, who also removes deletion templates. Lingo Bingo Dingo (tauk) 16:50, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
In the page history of Judaism there has been some nasty anti-Semitic image vandalism, which was quickly reverted by AG. Can you revdel (assuming such a function exists on this wiki) those old versions? Just be warned that the images in those versions are highly NSFW and disturbing. Thanks. Hello,
you didn't answer yet, why you support Wutsjes written reason, that only English Wikipedia should be important in deciding how the the article is named in another language and why at all this should be important.
And why German, French, Portuguese, Czech, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Bulgarian, Ukrainian and so on Wikipedias and languages are not important.
I hope you correct the name once and for all to Prayagraj, the discussion never ended on English Wikipedia, there are way too many Hindus and supporters.
--Tecumseh*1301 (tauk) 22:21, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Alright then, meanwhile I started to help improve here on Scots Wikipedia, well.. we will see how long we wait with Prayagraj, and we will know how long it was by the knowledge of Scots that I will have by then („fowk“ & „sangster“ are interesting words) :)
Well, some included, there I just initiated the process, then there was discussion some contra, mostly pro a a name change and then they changed, some Wikipedias like already had the new name before I got to know about it.

Hi MJL, could you add a link to the Mercat Cross to the menu bar, so it be reached more easily? The "Gaun on the nou" link could technically be removed. That page doesn't seem to be used/maintained anymore. Also, it seems like there's no way to get to the Mercat Cross on the mobile version, as the main page header and the link list underneath it aren't visible. Hello! I moved the stub that was Brig o Dee to Brig o Dee (brig) yesterday to make way for a disambiguation page between that article and Brig o Dee (clachan). Noticing after my edits that it was slated for deletion, I updated the link on the Kirkyaird page but obviously Cliverbot is going off of some other list and has now done away with the disambiguation page when the content it was initially directed towards persists at Brig o Dee (brig). My thinking is that probably Brig o Dee (brig) should be deleted and Brig o Dee stay dead, since it would be a disambiguation between a redlink and a stub that already has direct links to it. James Hyett (tauk) 18:05, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
@James Hyett: restored. The page list is static now that cliverbot has started, so my apologies for not being clear about that. –MJL ‐Tauk‐☖ 18:29, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Hey there, as a previous attendee of a Scots Wiki editathon, I thought you might like to know about the December event, Sat 12 & Sun 13th. In addition to the usual wiki support, this month I'm really excited to say that we'll have language support in place from the Scots Language Centre, who'll be online between 12-3 on Zoom on Saturday with us to help with any of your queries.
There are as always jobs that non/lower level Scots speakers can do - articles always need things like citations, categories, wikilinks & images. There's a lot of work like this to be done, and it's all really valuable!
Hope to see you there!Sara Thomas (WMUK) (tauk) 13:50, 8 Dizember 2020 (UTC)

Hi, can you import incubator:Template:Wt/sco/inflection of to Template:Inflection of as it seems like there was a redirect in the Scots Wiktionary project that redirected the template starting with a lowercase title to the uppercase name (since templates in Wiktionary can start with lowercase letters) and that seems to have been imported instead of the template itself. Just a wee reminder that the next scots wiki editathon takes place this weekend, Sat 30 & Sun 31 January. If you'd like help improving your written scots skills, then folks from the Scots Language Centre will be on Zoom on Saturday (15:00-17:00 GMT) and Sunday (12:00-14:00 GMT) to do some collaborative editing, and I'll be around to help with any wiki queries. Feedback last time was that the language support was really helpful (and fun!), and we'd love to see you. We're looking mainly at improving articles to do with politics, particularly articles about politicians. Hi, MJL. I recognise your username from en.wikipedia, and I see you're an interface admin here. I've no idea where to ask about this, as it's a combination of translating English to Scots and changing something in the MediaWiki software.
When I received the standard notification for making my first edit here, it was in English: 'You just made your first edit; thank you, and welcome!' This is one of the first things new editors see here, and it should be in Scots. Looking at the translation pages, I think the wording should be 'Ye juist made yer first eedit; thank ye, and walcome!' Might you be able to change it? After the translation's checked, of course. Cheers, BlackcurrantTea (tauk) 01:20, 21 Februar 2021 (UTC)
