Wiki Travel:Celebrate a contribution

This is the place where you can share news of your completed piece of work — and invite the community to celebrate your milestone in contributing to Wiki Travel.

We normally celebrate something that required at least a couple of hours of work, and has very significant effect on one article, significant effect on a tree of articles, or affects the entire site. So if you recently completed a significant effort at Wiki Travel, go ahead and tell the rest of us here. Let's have a little party to share the satisfaction of a job well done!

This is a party among friends and colleagues, let your hair down. Notifications can reflect your personal style and character, and the type of contribution you have just completed.

You may also celebrate the work of another Wiki Travelr here, if it is worthy of public comment or thanks, but perhaps not significant enough for a barncompass yet.

The proper place to add a new celebration is at the bottom of the list. An appropriate image is optional.

Always sign your new item with your registered user name, but anonymous comments are acceptable if appropriate.

10000th edit! edit

@Ground Zero, Ikan Kekek, ThunderingTyphoons!, LPfi, SelfieCity, LivelyRatification, 82.3.185.12, DaGizza, FredTC, Wauteurz, AlasdairW, Antandrus, Pashley, Vaticidalprophet: Just passed my 10000th edit, and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping me get here. My time here at Wiki Travel was a lot more enjoyable than I thought, and I'm not leaving for a couple of years to come.

I truly have to say that Wiki Travel is much better than Wikipedia, and to say, Wikipedia receives more vandalism than total edits on this wiki. The small community also makes it a fun, enjoyable and most importantly successful wiki. Saw crocs at a creek. Write it, and someone else may enjoy the pleasure as well.

Thankfully, my 10000th edit was much better than my 5000th or ThunderingTyphoons!' one. Well, to celebrate, I chose to expand my first edit.

Congrats SHB! I do agree on Wiki Travel being a friendlier and more relaxed environment than the 'pedia. While we have our own set of rules, there are overall fewer rules with more freedom and flexibility given to editors when writing articles, especially travel topics. Thanks Wauteurz. To be fair, I've had a lot more spare time in recent months, partly due to Covid, and partly due to an injury (minor). Not sure if I'll hit 20000 by the end of this year, but it's definitely a lot quicker than I thought. After all, I thought I was going to hit 1000 edits only by Spring (aka September to November not Mar - May), but no, I rather did that amount in just a week. Thank you. What's great here is there's a sense of community here, but on enwiki, you're likely to spot a user one, and then you probably won't see them for a while on RC. 10,000th edit edit

Here is my horn: 🎺. Toot toot! I have hit my 10,000th Wiki Travel edit since I started contributing in January 2013.
