Ardahan is a city in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. It's the capital of Ardahan Province in the extreme northeast Turkey, bordering both Georgia (connected with which by the Türkgözü border post), and Armenia (no border crossing).

With a population of lower than 20,000, Ardahan is one of the smallest cities in the country that has the distinction of being a provincial seat.
Summers are mild to warm with frequent afternoon showers, while winters are extremely cold, with temperatures near-constantly below -10°C.

1 Lake Çıldır (Çıldır Gölü) (60 km east). A relatively popular attraction in the area, especially in winter, when horse-drawn sleighs are available for a tour over the frozen lake.
