From Ottoman Turkish وندیك (Venedik), from Venetian venedego (“Venetian”) and Byzantine Greek Βενετικός (Benetikós, “Venetian”), variant of Ancient Greek Ἐνετικός (Enetikós) under influence from Latin veneticus, from Ἐνετοί (Enetoí, “Eneti; Veneti; Venetian”) + -ικός (-ikós, “ic: forming adjectives”). Compare the similar development of German Venedig, Swedish Venedig, etc. from veneticus.
