Translingual edit

An unorthodox variant simplified from 媼 (𥁕 → 昷) which can be found in the historical Ming dynasty 《重訂直音篇》 dictionary.

Eventually adopted as an official form by the People's Republic of China in 1965 based on the Xin Zixing (新字形) standardized form of characters.

Notes: Simplified Chinese is mainly used in Mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore. Traditional Chinese is mainly used in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

This character is also the preferred form used in Hong Kong, where traditional Chinese is used.
